The Atlantic corridor showed an intense expansion of its rail and motor way infrastructures on the Iberian Peninsula, with the region of Santarem/Leiría (case 1). This corridor is particularly susceptible to wildfire and human-induced fire as well as floods. IP (INFRAESTRUCTURAS DE PORTUGAL), partner of the project, will be the user carrying-out the Case 1. IP maintains more than 15,000 km of roads, 2,500 km of railways and 500 rail stations in Portugal. The Case 1, corresponding to the Atlantic corridor, will be carried-out in the hot spot surrounding Santarem/Leiría, including 73.37 railway km, and 5 European roads with 22,822 daily users.
